August has arrived and there's still plenty of summer sewing left! With our new machines there's lots of reasons to visit and give a new Bernina a test drive and maybe give it a good home!
Make sure to follow us on Facebook at Sewing Centre of Lincoln for all sorts of updates and reminders of upcoming events, sales, and classes. There are still some snafus with receiving our email newsletter but we're still trying to get everyone in the loop! In the meantime, if you have a friend who didn’t get the newsletter, forward the message to them and spread the word that if they’re not getting the newsletter it can always be found on the homepage of our website. And let them them know to go to the website to sign up for the newsletter and then make sure to check all the email folders to make sure it didn’t end up in junk/spam. Thanks to all who joined us for an exciting morning as we presented all the new products from Bernina University! A fun time was had by all - everyone had the chance to hear about all the new machines and their fabulous features and got some hands-on time on the machines to stitch up some quick projects. And lots of us had our Bernina wish lists grow just a little bit longer. Stay tuned for future event announcements for our new Bernina family members.

Ruler Work with your Domestic Machine

This is the perfect project if you want to start to learn how to do Ruler Work with your sewing machine! We will be using Amanda Murphy's 2nd pattern using straight line and curved rulers to quilt with. The block can be used for several different things. If there is enough interest in doing more ruler work projects, we will progress into using different rulers and doing different techniqes!
A pattern and ruler will be required. They will be available at the class. If you have a straight edged ruler for ruler work, you can bring that. You will also need a ruler work presser foot for your sewing machine!! You choose your own fabric!
Bernina Mastery Class Embroidery 2 You will learn how to put a design and words together on a hand towel. Please bring a non-terry cloth towel to class and some red, green and black isacord thread with you! If you have a medium weight tear away stabilizer - bring it too!!

August 2026 - Basic Building Block: Digitizing
In Creator level, we will digitize two in-the-hoop projects for a favorite pair of scissors.
In DesignerPlus, the focus of this lesson will be on scanning fabrics to use a background for digitizing special designs.

What Machine(s) Is This Club Made For?
All BERNINA machines! The majority of the content can be done in a Large Oval or Midi Hoop to ensure that all machines can do the project provided. There will be options for doing projects with bigger hoops, and we will discuss incredible BERNINA features and how they make every project easier. Many projects may even be completed with a bernette embroidery machine, though some of the featured accessories may not be available.
Don't yet own a BERNINA? You may also be able to complete many of the projects and are encouraged to join the club to learn more about embroidery.
